Resolved Question: Desperately needing your advice?

I posted this before under the wrong category–didn’t get many answers. I got a settlement from my ex when we divorced. I dated someone for about 21/2 yrs. We lived in his house which needed a lot of work. I was afraid i would blow my settlement money, so i decided to use it to fix up the house we were living in. The plan was to eventually sell his house and i would get my money back. Well, turns out he was a pervert. He was addicted to porn. I would find numerous hidden folders on the computer with pictures of girls that looked to be 9 to 18 yrs old. One day i borrowed his car–was compelled for some reason to look in his glove box. I found 2 pairs of my teenage daughters underwear locked inside. After much arguing he finally confessed he would pull over on his way to work and masturbate with them. I told him it was over. He was outraged. The next thing i knew he had some guys come over and help him move all of my things into a storage unit. I spent that night sleeping in my car at a rest area. Prior to this anytime we had work on the house done i told him to put the receipts in a basket on top of the fridge, so i would know how much money I was spending on the house ( and so i would have proof). I have approx. $10,000 worth of receipts. I went to a lawyer and she told me she would take my case. She said it was all in who the judge believed. Her retainer fee is $1000. I will have to borrow from my 401k. Some people tell me to let it go and others say i should pursue it. Nothing was in writing. What would you do?? How do you think a judge would see this. I just found out today that he sold the house..
Serious answers only please.
